DORR Film Club – Bad Faith

August 16 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Greeting film aficionados, Join us for our next political film club conversation.  BAD FAITH, a documentary on the rise of US Christian Nationalism, has been popular viewing of late.  Let’s watch and discuss the political project that has merged the Christian Nationalist movement and the Republican party.

With the subtitle “Christian Nationalism’s Unholy War on Democracy,” BAD FAITH traces the history of Christian Nationalism in the US and the plan to upend the Constitution and impose a version of Biblical law on all Americans.  According to a review in Variety, the film’s directors, Stephen Ujlaki and Chris Jones, “go deep into the roots of this movement, and what’s new and disquieting is how the current presidential race changes everything.” BAD FAITH’s cast includes religious leaders, historians, investigative journalists, state senators, political activists, sociologists, and a former high-ranking member of the Trump administration. They take viewers on a journey into why the US is so divided and how it got there.

Watch the film on Amazon, YouTube orTubi and then join us on zoom to talk about the documentary, religion, politics, and the upcoming election.  The August meeting of DORR’s political film club is hosted by DORR members Mik Jordahl (Attorney) and Stephen Hanks, with special guest Stephen Ujlaki, director of the film.
