Our Mission

Democrats of the Red Rocks is a Democratic Club serving Sedona and the Verde Valley that welcomes all independent-minded citizens. Our mission is to elect Democrats by increasing voter turnout, promoting Democratic Party principles, and educating the community.

Our History

Democrats of the Red Rocks was officially founded in 2003.  The idea began when the AZ Democratic Party reached out to congratulate Susan Solomon, a Democrat, on her election to the Sedona City Council.  After meeting an energetic network of Democrats across the state, Susan decided to invite other Democratic women to her home with the thought of starting a political club.  They began monthly meetings and worked actively to elect Janet Napolitano (D) as Governor of Arizona in 2002.  The group’s efforts in this success convinced them to officially become Democrats of the Red Rocks.  This energetic and thriving group continues to this day, growing to over 350 members and encompassing like-minded people from surrounding communities across the Verde Valley.
