Rather than being alone in a state of anxiety, why not spend a few hours on Inauguration Day with friends who share your values and are equally disappointed in the results of the Presidential election?
The Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) is offering a special Inaugural Day alternative on Monday, January 20, 2025, which is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Please join friends and neighbors for a 10am screening (followed by lunch at nearby Sedona Crepes at 12:30pm).
We will be screening Dave, starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver, a political comedy about a Presidential lookalike who is recruited to stand in for the US President at an event. The all-star cast also includes Laura Linney, Charles Grodin and Sir Ben Kingsley. The earnest and socially relevant comedy was met with both critical acclaim and popular reviews. The movie will be followed by an inspiring 7 minute showing of Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic I Have a Dream Speech delivered during the 1963 March on Washington. It has endured as one of the signature moments of the civil rights movement.
Following the movies, we’ll head to Sedona Bistro and Crepes (in the Basha’s shopping center). The restaurant’s regular menu will be available.
The suggested donation for the films is $12 per person (to cover the cost of the theater rental) and will be collected at the Box Office. Pay for your own lunch at the restaurant.
RSVP by Jan 6th by clicking HERE below to let us know if you plan to attend the movies, lunch or both!
