Propositions:

Prop 400 – Alternative Expenditure Limitations (also known as Home Rule) – Vote YES

This proposition will allow the City of Sedona to set spending limits based on the revenue it receives. We’ve voted for it for the last 30 years. Look for Prop 400 at the bottom of your ballot.

With HOME RULE, our community benefits as local revenues are invested where they matter. 

Without HOME RULE, a majority of the money already collected would be inaccessible and not be available to benefit our community. 

• City services could be severely reduced, including street maintenance, police services, infrastructure and drainage improvements
• Local non-profits could be severely threatened, including the Community Library, the Humane Society, Meals on Wheels, the recycling center, arts organizations and more.

Prop 403 – Cultural Park Preservation Act – Vote NO

This act would permanently prohibit ANY type of housing at the site of the former Cultural Park.

A “no” vote keeps the community’s options open for the future of this city-owned property while still allowing residents to help shape how the land is used.

The Initiative would permanently prohibit housing at the side, including potential senior housing and housing for critical workers such as teachers, doctors, and nurses limiting the City’s ability to repond to future community needs and priorities.

Sedona deserves thoughtful long term planning and public input – not permanent restrictions that remove flexibility or increase tourist density for future generations.
