DORR Educational Breakfast – Know Your Rights

February 20 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
$10

Join DORR for an in-person Know Your Rights presentation by Harrison Redmond, of the ACLU of Arizona. This program will focus on immigrants’ rights and what US citizens can do if they witness rights being violated. Ensuring we understand our protections, regardless of citizenship status, empowers us to better support our neighbors and community.

The Federal government’s cruel policy of mass deportation and it’s lawless violations of rights in blue states has led to horrific instances of killings, abuse, unlawful detention, and deportation.

This non-partisan program is for all who believe that this is not ok!

Harrison Redmond is a Community Organizer for the ACLU of Arizona. He was born and raised in Arizona and lives in Phoenix. He has been involved with community and electoral organizing for more than 10 years and most recently worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Harrison joined the ACLU of Arizona to fight for criminal legal reform, LGBTQ+ equality, immigrants’ rights, and abortion access across Arizona.

Harrison also advocates for civil rights and civil liberties at the Arizona Legislature and other governmental bodies. He lobbies elected officials through written and oral testimony, coalition building, and one-on-one meetings, to achieve the end goals of the ACLU of Arizona. He aims to empower people through sustained investment in their community and a radical belief in collective action, abolitionist ideals, and people power. Outside of political advocacy, Harrison loves to travel, get tattooed, read, play guitar, and spend time with his cat, Ruth.

Harrison is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with bachelor’s degrees in both Law and Political Science with an emphasis in Law and Public Policy.
