Take Action Now

DORR is recommending that you use www.5calls.org, a website that provides terrific scripts for people use when calling their congressional representatives. This makes calling Congress EASY and impactful. Just enter your zip code and you’ll be given the phone numbers and 30 scripts to choose from.

Make your voice heard! Try it – you’ll like it!!

Action Groups

The Action Groups are designed to research and communicate information regarding what actions might be necessary going forward. We are asking members from all the political groups and the community in the Sedona/Verde Valley to join an Action Group by contacting one of the group leaders. Contributing your ideas and volunteering will help them as they formulate and carry out their goals.

What is Request To Speak (RTS)?

Is it important? (Yes)

Should you participate? (Yes)

The Request to Speak system allows citizens to make their voices heard by supporting or opposing legislation while it’s being heard in committees at the Arizona State Legislature.

How does it work? Our friends at Phoenix based Civic Engagement Beyond Voting, CEBV, will go to the State Capitol building to create an account for you (because accounts may only be established in the AZ Capitol Building). They offer online training demonstrating how to use this online system, and analyze bills you can support or oppose. When the Legislature is in session – usually January thru July, CEBV sends out an email every Sunday morning with RTS recommendations.

All you have to do is sign into your account, enter a bill number, and give it a thumbs up or thumbs down. Legislators use the input to gauge the support pending legislation. This is a fun, easy way to impact legislative outcomes from the comfort of your couch! No need to sign up again if you already have an account.
