Local Action Groups

The Action Groups below welcome your ideas and contributions! Volunteers are essential to support each of the group leaders to formulate and carry out their goals.

Find an Action Group that interests you and contact the group leader(s). Your participation makes a difference!

Immigration

Align with local churches, schools, grassroots orgs, and governments to provide education and guidance on available resources for families and children.

Leaders:
LGBTQ+

Helping vulnerable communities, align with local churches, coordinate with other orgs, local governments, school boards to define key issues and actions, including things like book bans, bathroom bans, etc.

Leader:
Climate Change/Sustainability

Focus on local environmental challenges

Monitor our town government, school boards and media to advocate for increased clean energy use, heat mitigation strategies, clean air and water conservation. Track and respond to the AZ Corporation Commission’s decisions that affect water and electric use rates. Build resiliency with Friends of the Verde River, Arizona Climate Action Coalition, and Yavapai Solar Advocacy on the key issues of water, air quality and rising heat levels.

Candidate Recruitment and Support Local/ State Officials

Identify and research new candidates for local/state office in 2026, follow campaigns, and support elected officials.

Leaders:
Community Service Group

This group will be working to find a way to oppose some of the entries in Project 2025. It is a small, select group creating a path forward.

There is a second component to this group They will be ready to offer “quick action assistance” if food is needed to assist groups such as Meals on Wheels, school lunches or homeless shelters if needed. This component will need a plethora of volunteers available for “immediate actions”.
